It is rare to find a great tasting organic wine. Perhaps just as rare, is capturing this essence in tastefully crafted packaging.
With our client Saint Clair – known for their award winning Marlborough wine range – we looked to develop a brand name and packaging for a premium limited release organic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Above all our goal was to create a daring and imaginative design solution to echo the efforts in their wine. We wanted to demonstrate it could be done, that organic could be credible and premium.
The pack was used as a self promotion for our client Saint Clair Wines and by The Creative Method with a limited release of 50 cases.
The Alternative name was chosen as it reflected a new way of looking at organic packaging and as the alternative to the norm of non-organic wine production. The concept simply shows a vine from the leaves, to the bark to the wine. Every endeavour was made to ensure that the packaging was as organic and environmentally friendly as possible, this included the balsa wood with its laser etched detailing, the string and wax seal used to affix the label, the outer paper wrap stock and even the inks used to print the image.
