Sassy’s Red

Sassy’s Red is the latest from restaurant guru Simon Goh. The brief was to combine the idea of a local Malaysian Koptieam and sexy jazz women from the 1950s

The look and feel reflects the eclectic nature of the Kopiteam with a collection of different elements. The type pays homage to the Jazz posters and is used to reflect the collection of different dishes on offer. The ladies were taken from old postcards sourced from authentic Malaysian stores and also are reflective of the Jazz era but highlight the Sassy concept.

The business cards take reference from old concert tickets, which are printed on uncoated heavyweight stock, presented in strips and have perforated edges.

The Sassy Red menu again reflects the eclectic nature with every element being referenced from a different place. The noodle section takes it’s cues from contemporary noodle packaging while the main section has been based on a well travelled rice sack – both have been overlapped with the authentic Jazz style type extolling the menu. Old ice cream advertisements were used for desert menus and specials were printed directly onto some old plates.
